Mac OS X 10.6 Update: Image Capture
13th of September, 2009
In all versions of Mac OS X previous to 10.6, when you plugged a camera or iPhone in, it would launch iPhoto or Aperture or whatever program you’d set up as your default. Pretty inconvenient if your brother in law plugs his iPhone into your iMac to charge, thus launching iPhoto about four times a day.
Image Capture 6.0, in 10.6 takes care of this with a little preference portion in the lower left corner of the app. For each camera or iPhone (or, presumably, other camera phones, but why would you buy one of those?), you can set a preference as to which program, if any, will launch when that device is plugged in.

Noticed this today – it removes my need for the wonderful Camera.app prefpane.
*Cameras.app rather.
inconveniant => inconvenient
Now if they only had this for non-camera devices…
I’d love to be able to plug in my Sony Reader without the SOny Library app opening.

But, you can’t get it to open an app after it downloads, like you used to be able to do. And I hate the white borders on the image icons. How can I lose them?
I had a similar problem with my iPod and Linux. Every time I plugged it into the USB port, it stopped being useful as a music player. My solution was to buy a small USB extender and yank out the data lines with a tweezers. $5, at the time I could only find USB chargers for $30…

Автор, где такой шаблон можно взять? Очень понравился…
I’ve heard there are some wildlife groups trying to get Apple to do more stuff with the actual S.L.’s lol. I don’t know- people are saying it’s good PR for Apple- they should jump on that.
In most cases, the autodetect software of your computer may be disabled however this will also disable autodetection of all of the USB devices that will be plugged into it. this software is definitely a good alternative.
I’d usually prefer to disable autoruns when anything is inserted even usb disks or thumbdrives. However it would also be convenient to just plug and play like the device we use to connect the computer to hdtv. It is straightforward with great quality.
Autodetection is originally intended to make things easier when you pug in some devices and to make it more easier the corresponding appropriate programs will also be launched. More often than not it is plugged in for ipod uses rather than just charging. And maybe charging can be dome while doing somethings or just charge the ipod on a wall charger.
